Gabions are simple, sustainable, economical and easy to install solutions for land retention and stabilization problems. They are made from hexagonal shaped mesh which increases it’s load bearing capacity.
Gabion Mesh gets its hexagonal shape due to double twisting. This shape and twisting accommodates for better distribution of stress subjected to it due to the stone infill. Double twisting also prevents the mesh to tear apart in case of a break
It is the most economical land retention solution as compared to RCC wall, Brick Wall & UCR Masonry both in terms of supply of materials as well as installation.
We use either heavy galvanized 275 gsm steel wire of ECOZAL (90%Zn+10%al) which has 3 times more life. The Life is further increased by using PVC or PA6 coatings.
The box is assembled on site using simple selvedge wire, and stones are arranged in it by unskilled workers as there is no involvement of any masonry work. This makes the installation economical and easy.
Depending on the application, we can select from one of the three mesh sizes – 60×80, 80×100, 100×120 mm. Box dimensions are completely customizable and follow structuals gabion design.
After assembly gabion boxes are compacted which increases the loadability and reduces transportation costs.
